Coronavirus Update

Dear All

I hope this email finds you and your families safe and well. We will try to provide a regular update while club activities are ceased based on government guidance surrounding coronavirus.

League Matters We heard yesterday from The FA that all Step 3 to Step 7 adult football has been declared null and void so we fully expect all the youth leagues and other adult leagues to now abandon the 2019/20 season. We have already been informed by the Crowborough and District Junior Football League (CDJFL) that they have decided to abandon the 2019/20 season. “With no end in sight to this previously un-encountered situation, and with a programme some considerable way from being completed, the decision by the Management Committee of the Crowborough League is to abandon the 2019-20 season with immediate effect. No further fixture schedules will be published and the Knockout Cup competitions will not therefore take place. Whilst this decision was by no means taken without careful consideration, the likelihood of any immediate lifting of the imposed suspension of play remains extremely unlikely. At the end of the day the health and well being of individuals far exceeds that of any football match and I sincerely hope that you will all understand the reasons for this decision being made.” Training and Insurance For the avoidance of doubt, the club will not agree under any circumstances for training sessions to be run by volunteers or parents - government guidance restricts gatherings of more than two people and the urge is for people to stay at home. In addition, we have also been advised by the Kent FA that all clubs' insurance policies have now been suspended. This will remain the case while matches, friendlies, tournaments and training sessions are not permitted. Club Kit It is unclear when teams will be able to start training or matches but during this time it is essential that we don’t lose any of the club's kit. It will be extremely difficult to find new sponsors for next season to cover any lost kit as many businesses will be under huge financial pressure given the current climate. The club is not in a financial position to replace lost, unreturned or damaged kit so please take care of all items. If your child, decides not to play for the club next season please ensure you arrange for the kit to be returned to your team's manager when it becomes possible. That’s all for now but in the meantime please look after each other in these uncertain times. Best Wishes Paul
