Frankie Sawyer hit the winner as Sevenoaks Town clinched the points in a tight contest at Bourne Stadium.
The win capped an excellent day on and off the pitch with more than £800 raised for Breast Cancer Care.
The town’s Mayor Roddy Hogarth and Pink Week founder Stephanie Harrison were both guests of the club, but the team proved very uncharitable as a stout defensive performance earned them victory and extend their unbeaten Bostik League run to five games.
Centre backs Jack Miles and Tom Ripley were in determined mood in front of goalkeeper Ben Bridle-Card whose handling and shot-stopping was again excellent.
Top scorer Sawyer, pounced just before the half hour to score his 11th of the season.
Will Johnson-Cole laid the ball back to him, and his low shot took a deflection, beating visiting goalkeeper Sam Mott.
United arrived having not registered a win in their previous eight games, but they made a bright start with Lea Dawson, Matt Day and Tom Carlse all going close inside the opening 10 minutes.
Sam Corne missed out with a far post header early in the second half, and United continued to press until the final whistle, making Oaks work hard to protect their hard won advantage.
They survived and might have grabbed a late second on the break, but Johnson-Cole’s effort was blocked by Mott.
Boss Micky Collins introduced his three new signings, Ainsley Everett, David Smith ,pand Xavier Vidal off the bench in the final half-hour.
Everett has joined from East Grinstead, Smith is on loan from Dover, while Vidal moves from Greenwich Borough.
Striker Zac Attwood has joined Eastbourne Town on loan, and scored in their 5-1 defeat at Horsham YMCA.
Attwood suffered a broken jaw, in a pre-season friendly - and then sustained an achilles problem, restricting his appearances.
