Sevenoaks Town earned a replay as their FA Cup First Qualifying Round ended all square at Southwood on Saturday.
They led for an hour in their first ever meeting with their Bostik South East rivals Ramsgate, before the young Thanet side levelled with 20 minutes to go, their first shot on target, sparking a late rally by the hosts.
Town had to make a late change after Mikey Dalton dropped out in the warm-up, still struggling with a foot injury, with Alec Fiddis his late replacement.
Rob Saunders put Town in front after only 10 minutes, heading in fellow defender Jake McIntyre’s free-kick, giving the visitors a perfect start.
They had chances to increase their advantage - home defender Tijan Jadama hacking Kenny Pogue’s cross clear under pressure, before Ryan Fowler dragged his shot wide.
Then six minutes before half time, Frankie Sawyer was put clear by Osman Proni, but was then brought down by Luke Wheatley earning the Rams skipper a booking.
Sawyer was in the action again in stoppage-time, seeing his header drop wide from another Pogue cross.
The start of the second half lacked any real chances in the opening 20 minutes, before Pogue was denied as home keeper Luke Watkins raced off his line to block his shot.
Five minutes later Ramsgate equalised - a long ball fell into the path of striker Aaron Millbank who lobbed over keeper Ben Bridle- Card into the net, Jack Miles’ efforts to clear proving in vain.
Sawyer and Pogue went close again shortly afterwards, before Bridle-Card saved well from Tom Chapman, as Rams finished strongly.
