Sevenoaks saw the return of Jarvis Brook at home after the last time they met ended in a 3-1 win with a solid attacking display from Sevenoaks.
The first half of this game was very even as Jarvis Brook obviously wanted to make up for the result earlier in the season and take some points off Sevenoaks. Some well organised defending by Sevenoaks kept the visitors from finding any dangerous attacks, but they couldn’t build on that going forward and didn’t manage to work the keeper as much as they wanted. Both teams went into half-time feeling they could do more in the second half. 0-0
Five minutes after the restart, Jarvis Brook won a corner and managed to pounce on a poorly cleared ball to stick it in the back of the net to take the lead. 0-1. Sevenoaks felt that they were still in the game and tried to play their football but kept losing the individual battles which meant the visitors could start piling the pressure. Not long later they added to their lead on 47’ which is when Sevenoaks seemed to lose their grasp of the game. Jarvis Brook were in control for the rest of the game as Sevenoaks struggled to keep hold of the ball. The visitors secured the three points two minutes from the final whistle with a very good finish from outside the box. 0-3.
A result and performance to forget for Sevenoaks but one to learn from where we went wrong. Onto next week with another home game where we will be looking to get back to winning ways.
