Sevenoaks started off feisty against a physically strong Fisher team, in front of the large crowd. Sevenoaks knew from before the game that they needed to take home the three points after a few disappointing results, and with that in mind came their first goal – almost from the off…
After getting off the mark early on, Oaks grew in confidence and as the game progressed they were moving the ball around effortlessly. Some great skill from the young Sevenoaks defence of Butler, Miles, Kitt and Gilbert with the average age of the back four being eighteen - as they coped well with some heavy attacks from the tireless Fisher wingers.
Fisher had two close shots on goal during the first half, both hitting the bar and exciting the crowd opposite the stand- who brought atmosphere to the game.
The second half began and once again Sevenoaks made an instant impact once more as Mike Fahm pulled off a fantastic shot to beat the keeper. 2-0 to Oaks.
It seemed to be Fahms days as after some brilliant footwork from Martin Debrah- he was able to make the Fisher backline vanish, enabling Mike Fahm to drive home once more. 3-0 Sevenoaks after an hour played.
With three quarters played, Mike Fahm took on the defence cutting in from the left side of the pitch beating five defenders to only completely flunk his shot out for a goalkick… there goes a hat-trick!
The game finished 3-0, and despite some areas needing improvement - the squad was in high spirits with their three points after the game, looking to bring the positives into the next one - Wednesday at Greatness Park against Rochester United FC.
